Sally Walters

Sally, a first grade teacher, is an extremely valuable fixture at West Hills Elementary. Next school year will be her 30 th year in teaching. As she has been using unitedstreaming for a few years, she is continuing to d iscover new ways of using unitedstreaming technology with other excited educators. She loves sharing unitedstreaming with fellow teachers giving them easy, new ways to follow the curriculum and helping solve problems in creating projects. She seems to naturally go the extra mile to not only become a Discovery Educator, but to become a building level technology trainer and technology coach for teachers, created 30+ Powerpoints with videos to play on Windows or Mac computers and continues to provide various inservices on using the powerpoints in other classrooms.

She states, “A positive outcome of using unitedstreaming is that teachers who never opened the internet are now using it. They want to use the technology. For me, using my health Powerpoints made some students in my class actually beg for more. “Mrs. Walter, we want to do health today!”

Sally was very active in keeping unitedstreaming in their district. After a trial account, she convinced her principal that this is what they needed. After an additional trial, the entire Knox County school district obtained the service.

Sally is the developer of the West Hills Elementary school website for the Knox County School District in Knoxville , TN.
