Interactive Whiteboards

Hi,

I just recently received word that I won a grant to install a Smartboard in my classroom.  I was wondering if anyone had any good resources for ideas of lessons, templates, and instructions.

 Thanks,

Hi Chris, congrats on your Smart board.

First place to go is the the Smart Tech web site for educators. They have some of the best quality actvities and also have some great interactive trainings with a live trainer.

If you have access to DE streaming, check out the professional development section because they also have interactive whiteboard lessons and ideas.

The Smart Board Podcast is one of the best podcasts for education. They do a broadcast every Saturday. They are past 100 episodes but it is well worth going back and listening to past episodes. Ben and Joan are also on Twitter with a Smart board network for sharing resources.

Finally take a look at the blog Teachers Love Smart Boards by James Hollis. The tips just come pouring out of this blog.

Good Luck!

What is a Smartboard? What grade(s) do you teach?

Hi Amanda,

A Smartboard is an interactive whiteboard.  The whiteboard allows you to use the internet and computer programs through it, and offers another avenue to present knowledge to the kids.
