My wife is a fourth grade teacher in NC and would love to see any elementary level sample projects on digital storytelling.  If you know of any good links please post a link.  Thank you.

I do not know of a good link but I learned of an awesome project using Photo Story 3. You can download it off of Microsoft's website. It is VERY easy to use. I plan to use it with 2nd graders this year

Hi, Last year I attended a workshop where we learned how to make digital projects.  Visit the following website www.enidk12.org , then click on the technology department.  Then, click on the Oklahoma Digital Cenntenial Project.  Let me know if i can be of any assistance.  The projects really do turn out great, if you are dedicated enough and have some support!

Sincerely,

Hi Brad,

In my 5th inclusion class, we just finished a digital storytelling project about our favorite teachers. This was our first digital story project and we think it turned out great!

I am a first year teacher, and I just heard the term "digital storytelling" for the first time a week ago. I was a bit too embarrassed to admit that I didn't know what it was. Does anyone mind giving me an example? Is it a tool that I can use with my high school class, or is it meant for younger students?

Basically as I understand it, Digital Storytelling is taking photographs and/or video and applying meaning to the images.  For example, a third grade class last year each found a photo of a spider and then described what a day in the life of a spider might be like.  Creating video montages on a theme to convey meaning also fall under the title "Digital Storytelling".  If you are interested the DEN has an excellent blog on the them. http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/digital_storytelling hosted by Joe Brennan.  I hope this helps you somewhat.

Digital Storytelling is a great opportunity for students to show their learning. They can find pictures or take picturs to use and then record their voice or information about that. It can be a PowerPoint show with pictures and voice recorded in the background of the pictures.

Photostory 3 has become the most popular and easy format to use that directions are not even needed to explain how to use it. Google Photostory 3 and download it for FREE for any computer with Windows XP or Vista. Add pictures, music, voice, and text and you got a windows media player movie in a couple of minutes from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/d...

Another FREE digital storytelling website that has become very popular is voice threads at voicethreads.com You can see an example on this web page at http://www.quia.com/pages/mlking.html
